Intershim B.V. was established in 2013 as a logical next step following the stainless steel shim production that Medir International had initiated some time earlier. What began as a complementary activity within Medir quickly evolved into a full-scale production line, driven by increasing market demand. To manage this growth in a structured way and enable further professionalization, Intershim was founded as an independent manufacturer. Since then, Medir has remained the official distributor for the Benelux region—forming a close and effective partnership that continues to this day.

In its early stages, production still took place within Medir’s facility. However, due to growing demand, product diversification, and increasing specialization in thin-gauge materials, Intershim soon moved into its own premises at Tinstraat 93 in Ridderkerk. Continued growth led to a further expansion into a modern facility at Tinstraat 2, where Intershim now operates with 400 square meters of production space, equipped with advanced machinery and the capacity to supply both standard and custom-made products.

In addition to our well-known standard shims, Intershim increasingly focuses on the production of special shims—tailor-made solutions designed to meet exact customer specifications. These special shims are used in cases where standard sizes fall short and require a combination of precision, flexibility, and technical expertise. Intershim has proven to be a reliable partner in delivering these custom components.

A recent milestone in our development is the acquisition of a high-end cutting machine capable of processing stainless steel plates up to 3 meters by 1.5 meters with exceptional precision. This enables Intershim to offer more than just standard shim products—we also supply custom foundation plates and technical components tailored to industrial needs. With this level of capability, Intershim is a trusted supplier for industries where accuracy, consistency, and flexibility are non-negotiable.

Our products are distributed worldwide through a carefully selected network of partners. In the Benelux region, distribution is handled exclusively by Medir International, ensuring technical expertise, direct communication, and reliable delivery. What once started as an in-house production line at Medir has grown into a fully independent operation, driven by a clear vision for quality, innovation, and precision in metalwork.
